At Alchemy we pride ourselves on giving you complete flexibility – there are no contracts for our services, no prepayments and you are not locked into a defined number of sessions per term.
That being said, most of our tutors are fully dependent on the sessions they have with students as their primary source of income, so we ask you respect this by honouring the following:
If you are unable to do a session, please provide your tutor with notice at least 24 hours ahead of time. If notice is not given within 12 hours of the scheduled session time, you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.
We understand that in many situations this might be unavoidable – your child may leave school sick or there may be a sudden emergency preventing the session from happening. In this situation, please contact your tutor directly as soon as possible. Whilst they still maintain the right to charge you for the session, in most cases, they will be happy just to reschedule for another time that week.
If you are going away for an extended period of time, please let both us (by emailing email@example.com) and your tutor know at least 2 weeks in advance. 2 weeks will allow us to organise a replacement student to fill the void for your tutor in your absence. Likewise, if your tutor is going away for more than 2 weeks they will let us know and we will organise a replacement tutor for your child.
If you no longer require tuition from your tutor, please let us know (by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org) 2 weeks ahead of your proposed final session. We can advise your tutor on your behalf.
These requests exist to ensure your tutor is looked after and sessions aren’t regularly cancelled at the last minute. For your tutor, the session begins way before they arrive at your door; they will spend time before the session preparing and planning to maximise the value they can bring to your child, so by providing adequate notice of changes and cancellations they will feel valued and appreciated.
