This is not an offer of employment – it is commission only and there are no minimum or maximum hours offered or required. You get paid when a referral is approved and registers into the Alchemy platform; if an applicant is not considered appropriate they will be rejected prior to registration and no payment will be owed.
Alchemy maintains the right to determine an individual’s suitability as a tutor. Their decision will be considered final and will not be influenced by the recommendation of the recruiter.
Alchemy tutors can not be recruiters – we have a separate referral program for tutors. If you register as a recruiter and later become a tutor, your recruiter account will be closed and replaced with your tutor account.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be an Alchemy tutor to be a recruiter?
No – an Alchemy recruiter is a different role to an Alchemy tutor. We welcome anyone to join as a recruiter – there are no requirements or pre-screenings involved.
Am I guaranteed any pay?
No – the position is 100% commission based. You only receive payment on referrals that use your unique referral code to apply, are approved and register in to the system. If we feel the applicant is not suitable, they will be rejected and no payment will be made.
What do I need to become a recruiter?
You will need your bank account number and BSB to receive payment, your personal details such as name, phone and email address and an ABN (Australia Business Number). We have a step-by-step guide to obtaining your ABN – it is free of charge and should take just 5 minutes.
How do I get paid?
Payments are made directly to your bank account within 14 days of the applicant registering in to the Alchemy platform. You will receive an invoice and notification of payment by email.
What do you look for in a tutor?
Our tutors all have 3 key qualities: role-model character, excellent communication skills and expert knowledge in their subject area. We also require our tutors to have completed their schooling in Australia and the ability to work with children – they will require a working with children check in their state. In general we do not accept international students, temporary visitors to Australia or those overseas looking for online work opportunities.
